ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Sudhiranjan Lahiri Mahavidyalaya was established in the year 1966. At that time Department of Bengali was established as a General Course of the college under University of Calcutta. Honours Course started in the year 1970. It is one of the largest department of the college. There are so many students passed out from the department with glorious result under University of Calcutta and thereafter University of Kalyani. The departmental students are too much cultural. They participate in various cultural programmes. Department organizes Internal, State Level seminars and also National Level seminars and educational tours. Some of students take part in the NCC and NSS programme with sucessful accomplishments. Most of the students secure good marks in the University Exam. Many of them after graduation have pursued&nbsp; the PG course and cleared UGC NET, SET Examination. Some of Ex-students are serving as Assistant Professor, WBCS Officers and a great deal of them are working as School Teachers.Teachers have published many research articles and reference books which are very useful to students and research scholars. UGC Minor Research Projects have been completed sucessfully by the faculty members.
