The Department of Defence Studies was established in the academic year 1994-1995. Since then, it has been offering GENERAL/PROGRAMME courses to the undergraduate students. The Department&nbsp;of&nbsp;Defence&nbsp;Studies&nbsp;adopted the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) since&nbsp;2018 as per UGC guidelines. The syllabus has been framed in such a way that the objective behind the establishment of subject is fulfilled. Additionally, with&nbsp;the implementation of new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Defence&nbsp;Studies has been introduced as a major subject under Kalyani University. Only three colleges under Kalyani University offered Defence Studies. The Department has grown rapidly since its inception and host large number of students. Its primary aim is to impart quality education to the students, fostering competitive capability, innovative thinking and helps students in navigating the real world problems.
