MISSION AND VISION 
The Sociology Department of Sudhiranjan Lahiri Mahavidyalaya at Majdia is located in the rural village between India and Bangladesh in Nadia District of West Bengal, is committed to fostering a deep understanding of societal structures, dynamics, and issues.
Our mission is to:

&nbsp;1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide quality education: We strive to offer comprehensive and rigorous education in sociology, equipping students with theoretical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and empirical tools necessary to analyze and understand the complexities of society.
2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Promote interdisciplinary learning: We encourage interdisciplinary approaches, fostering collaboration with other departments within the Mahavidyalaya to offer students a holistic understanding of social phenomena and their interconnections with other fields.
3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Cultivate research skills: We aim to nurture a culture of research among students and faculty, providing opportunities for scholarly inquiry into various social issues and phenomena relevant to the local context of Majdia, the broader region, and beyond.

2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Foster community partnerships: We aim to forge strong partnerships with local community organizations, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations to address pressing social issues, promote sustainable development, and enhance the well-being of the Majdia community and its surroundings.
