Biography

Animesh Rai is a dedicated scholar and educator. Proficient in English, Nepali, Hindi, and Bengali, he specializes in sociology, particularly in migration and social movements. He graduated with Honours in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College in 2008, and went on to earn his M.A. and M.Phil. degrees at Sikkim University, excelling in both. In 2018, he obtained his Ph.D. from Sikkim University. Rai has received several accolades including the Excellence Award in Sociology, the JASSO/JENESYS Fellowship, and the Maulana Azad National Fellowship. He is serving as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Sudhiranjan Lahiri Mahavidyalaya since December 2016. He has presented papers and written articles in both national and international platforms.
